SANOFI MENTORING CONFERENCE – THE CHANGE MAKER PROGRAM

Description:
Meet Dr. Nikki James, Teaching Professor & Learning Scientist, Northeastern University and Wendy M. Richard, JD, MSSW, Director, CSR & Community Relations, US Corporate Social Responsibility. Panelists will present innovations related to mentoring, course design and student engagement in a project based learning environment. Learn about Sanofi’s implementation of the Changemaker program. Sanofi has participated in the Mayor’s Summer Jobs Program, with Boston Public Schools (BPS) and the Boston PIC, since 2013 via in-person, paid internships across R&D and commercial functions. Adoption of the ‘Changemaker’ innovation program was intended to ensure high quality experiences for all participating youth across diverse backgrounds and schools.

Meet a panel of educators from the Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) community who are leveraging lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic to restructure future STEM classrooms and create more inclusive and equitable learning opportunities. Panelists will present innovations related to mentoring, course design, student engagement, and/or experiential learning that helped them push the boundaries of traditional STEM teaching and learning. What are the challenges for widely implementing these practices? Where do opportunities exist to further test and expand these practices? How can we determine the impact these methods will have on a larger scale?
